POSITION SUMMARY
The Digital Specialist creates and implements activities for all TNC Australia’s digital channels, including its website, social media, email campaigns and other digital channels. Working across the marketing/communications and memberships programs, this position is responsible for driving revenue through fundraising activities, and ensuring online engagement across various digital channels. S/he is directly responsible for managing digital projects within budgets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Digital Specialist creates and implements TNC Australia’s digital presence including awareness and fundraising campaigns, and is directly responsible for ensuring campaign goals are met, including modifying tactics and schedules mid-campaign if/when they are not on track to meet goals. S/he makes and implements recommendations to ensure success.
S/he manages and implements projects/initiatives to optimise digital performance and manages project resources proactively. S/he works within the framework of positioning, platform and voice of the organisation’s fundraising and marketing objectives to meet stakeholders’ needs. S/he works closely with various stakeholders such as local, regional and global colleagues, consultants and vendors to manage all aspects of digital projects. The Digital Specialist oversees budgets to minimize expenses, maximize revenue, and meet quality control standards. S/he uses software systems to track and analyse program results and report findings. S/he works with senior marketing/communications and membership to implement strategic recommendations.
The Digital Specialist creates project plans and sets timelines to kick-off, implement, deploy, build and launch toolsets, web content and digital strategies. S/he works to implement email strategies and grow social media fans and followers. S/he manages online campaigns and promotions as needed including social media planning, execution, reporting and analysis
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
  • Coordinates projects, sets realistic deadlines and manages within timelines.
  • Duties are performed under general supervision and established guidelines.
  • Works within a budget to complete assigned projects or work.
  • Opportunity to act independently at times on assigned tasks.
  • Works with vendors/other parties to execute projects/deliverables.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 2 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience organizing and coordinating projects.
  • Experience proofreading and editing business documents.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Multi-lingual skills appreciated.
  • Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience, preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and ideally 2-3 years related digital experience, preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of word processing, database management and spreadsheet software, e-mail system and content management systems.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of project management principles.
  • Practical application of marketing and branding principles.
  • Practical knowledge of current and evolving national and global trends in online promotion and engagement.
  • Experience managing client/customer relationships.
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment within internal and external partners.
  • Ability to conceive and write creative and engaging digital content for various audiences based on technical information.
